The beautiful warm colors, the crisp fall air, and the apple cider donuts – there’s really no better season than fall. There’s just something about the cool fall weather in Philadelphia that makes me want to grab a bunch of blankets and spend the day at a park outside of the city. That is exactly what I did for my mini shoots this year.
Everyone knows I love picnics so I went to Whole Foods and bought pretty much everything that was apple flavored – apple pie – apple strudel – apple cider donuts – apple cider – actual apples – and I put together a picnic for my clients.
It was awesome to see couples whose weddings I photographed come back for either maternity or family mini shoots. I even shed a tear while photographing the last portrait of the day. One of my past clients, Renee, who I have photographed engagement, wedding, and maternity photos for, sat down in this elegant chair, surrounded by delicate florals, to breastfeed her 2 month old baby girl, and I just lost all control of my emotions. The moment was delicate and strong at the same time and I was overwhelmed that I could capture moments like these for a family who has trusted me with documenting all of their special moments.
Just as exciting as it is to see returning clients, I had so much fun meeting new families and running around with kids because let’s be serious – I’m just a big kid myself! It was a perfect day for drinking apple cider, playing in the leaves, and for sneaking an extra glazed donut when your parents aren’t looking.
Thank you to creative designer Bianca Makris and Maggpie for making my fall picnic visions come to life. This photoshoot was exactly what I had dreamed of and I am so thankful for you for helping me making my dreams a reality! And of course, thank you to all of my incredible clients for coming to my fall picnic this year! Let’s do it again sometime 🙂

I like the slightly desaturated colour. Looks timeless and dreamy.
