Jess and Brian made me feel like family since the first day that I met them – when I photographed their proposal 2 years ago and then their wedding last year. Yes, I already photographed their wedding. You’re probably confused so let me explain..
Jess was born in the UK but now lives in New Jersey. She and Brian got married last year at The Bernard’s Inn, and even though they had a beautiful wedding in Jersey, they wanted to have a proper celebration with her family and childhood friends as well – and what better way to celebrate your wedding back home than to celebrate your wedding… back home..
Jess’ mom, Gillian, decided that having the wedding celebration at her house in the UK countryside was the perfect idea because she and her husband loved hosting gatherings, they are friends with all their neighbors, and they just wanted the day to be intimate and relaxing. Planning a backyard wedding was not very difficult for Gillian. Once she got the tent – the rest was easy. All Jess and Brian had to do was show up!
When the bride and groom first walked in, looking gorgeous in a Anne Barge dress and Ted Baker suit, they were amazed at how Jess’ mom’s house was transformed into the most perfect, intimate wedding venue. She had picked flowers from her garden and had friends from Goose Green Florist help make beautiful arrangements.
Blending the two cultures together, the guests enjoyed grilled hot dogs and pizza for dinner and Victoria Sponge Cake for dessert. Jess’ mom had ordered a photo booth for guests that wanted to hang out and had a band playing all night for guests that wanted to dance. Everything was thought out and planned to perfection – even the English weather came through and we had a beautiful sunny day!
Jess and Brian, I don’t think I could ever thank you enough for how incredible you have been to me. I feel so lucky to have met you and have been a part of all your most important celebrations. Thank you for your trust, for your support, and for having me fly out to my favorite part of England to photograph your wedding! I wish you guys only the best and I can’t wait to keep celebrating life’s biggest moments together!
