“When I tell my friends that we flew to Horseshoe Bend and eloped, not one person is going to believe me. The second that my friends see me in Arizona, on a mountain, they’re going to be like, “There’s no way that’s real.”
With the help of Debra Mocker at Monumental Arizona Weddings and Events, this couple from Philadelphia had no problem planning their dream destination wedding elopement. Ashley and Joe rented out an AirBnB in Kanab, Utah and spent the weekend enjoying the incredible hospitality of this little town. The bride went into town to get hair and makeup done by Vanessa Alldredge while the groom spent they morning playing pool with his dad and father-in-law (and hanging out with the miniature donkeys on the Airbnb property – no, I am not joking).
After Ashley finished getting ready and picking up her bridal bouquet, the couple met for their first look at Utah’s Peekaboo Slot Canyon, one hour outside of Zion National Park. Following the intimate ceremony in Utah, the couple headed out for their sunset reception at Horseshoe Bend, Arizona. We took some photos, popped champagne, and video called all of their family and friends to surprise them with the news – and like the groom said in the very beginning, almost no one believed them that this magical day was real.
Ashley and Joe, I cannot thank you enough. You already know that the canyons and Horseshoe Bend were wedding destinations that I have dreamt about photographing for years and I am so grateful to you for choosing me as your photographer.
