Some spaces are perfect for celebrations. In these areas, every square inch of the place invites you to forget all your worries and enjoy the moment. While Philadelphia has every kind of venue for the modern couple, few are as perfect for parties as The Lucy wedding venue. This astonishing building has everything you need for the wedding of your dreams. If you’re stuck trying to find the right venue for your big day, let me tell you why I think you will absolutely love The Lucy.
The Lucy wedding venue is one of the latest ventures by the minds behind Cescaphe. Joe Volpe founded this planning company after he saw an abandoned movie theater just waiting to get its second life. After transforming the space, he began to find other areas that could serve couples as they embarked on their next journey in life. In 2019, his group set out to transform a building on S. Broad Street in the heart of Philadelphia. This area of the Avenue of the Arts now has extraordinary spaces, and The Lucy no exception.
The innovators behind Cescaphe snagged a spot on the corner of the street that had once housed shuttered restaurants and quickly went to work constructing a new space. The new building had style and glam, and it quickly became the most coveted space when planning an indoor Philly wedding.
One of the best aspects of the Lucy is how it serves as a blank slate for your design. The ballroom is the perfect example. This space is the primary area utilized for ceremonies. The dark hardwood floors are arranged in a contemporary chevron style, while the walls are a soft white. Also, you can choose to decorate the space however you want for your ceremony. Many couples decide to drape curtains surrounding the ceremony space to make it feel more intimate. You can use the stage for your vows or create an arbor closer to your guests. Whatever you choose to do with this area, you can guarantee it will look stunning!
After the ceremony, the ballroom transforms into a remarkable space ready for hours of celebration. An adjustable dance floor goes in the center, and stylish brass fixtures illuminate the room. Your guests can access a bar on the main floor serving premium cocktails. The stage at the front of the room can host a DJ but has ample space for a live band.
Cescaphe is known for its Cocktail Hour-and-a-half. Following your ceremony, guests head upstairs to the mezzanine, where they can enjoy quality cocktails served around high-top tables. This space is covered with a custom carpet and lit by modern brass wall sconces. For guests needing accommodations, an elevator makes the upstairs wheelchair accessible.
The Lucy wedding venue has a private Green Room on the second floor so parties can arrive early and put on the finishing touches while drinking champagne.
For a theater-style ceremony, the ballroom will hold up to 375 guests. If you choose to use the dance floor, you’ll have room for 325 guests for a seated dinner. Without it, you’ll have space for up to 350 guests.
The first sight you see when you enter The Lucy wedding venue is a white exposed brick wall with the venue’s name lit up. That prepares you for all the elegance you’re about to experience. A grand staircase with a glass rail takes you from the first floor to the second. The mezzanine gives you dramatically high ceilings to suspend decorations from where you see fit. The chairs for the reception have an elegant brass frame. While at the same time, the tables have luxurious tablecloths on them. The bar to the side is lit by dangling lights and features stylish open shelves in front of the exposed white brick. The bar can be tucked away with a curtain during the ceremony. Every detail of this venue will only add to the refinement of your wedding.
This venue has so many prime spots for dreamy photos. Let’s start outside! The venue is on Philadelphia’s Avenue of the Arts. Here, you can get some pretty remarkable backdrops. You can get the quintessential Philly photo, kissing with City Hall in the background, or even get a photo of your wedding party celebrating and popping champagne right in the heart of the city. The Kimmel Center down the street is also perfect for a dramatic backdrop. The glass dome of the atrium roof will make your photos shine. You also have the Union League nearby. The grand stairs leading into the brick building are an iconic picture.
The Lucy sign in front of the white exposed brick is necessary to move inside! This beautiful backdrop encapsulates the day and reminds you of the venue. The staircase leading up to the mezzanine is a lovely spot for family pictures. Furthermore, the sunlight beaming through the large windows lets in just the right amount of light for your indoor photos.
As your photographer, access to the mezzanine means I will get a bird’s eye view of your celebration. That gives you one-of-a-kind photos you won’t get with most wedding venues.
The geniuses behind Cescaphe know how to throw a party. When you book your wedding through them, you’ll have unrivaled amenities to keep the celebration going. One of the many areas where they excel is in cuisine. You’ll have some of the most delicious meals and hors d’oeuvres prepared by expert chefs. You’ll be able to build a menu served as either a four-course plated dinner or a stationed dinner.
Cescaphe will set you up with a team who will be there for you every step of the way. You’ll have an event coordinator, a Maitre D, and an event manager, and access to their top vendors.
If you’re looking for a gorgeous space you can dress up as your own, you will love The Lucy wedding venue. From its remarkable service to its open and airy layout, this venue is perfect for your special day.
